Assigning Macros to Buttons and Keyboard Shortcuts

Before you try to assign macros to buttons or shortcuts, make sure the Developer tab is visible in the Excel ribbon.

Assigning Macros to Buttons

Step 1: Insert a button

1. Go to the “Developer” tab in the Excel ribbon.

2. Click on the “Insert” button in the “Controls” group. A drop-down list of form controls will appear.

3. Select the button control you want to insert. Your cursor will change to a crosshair.

Step 2: Draw the button

1. Click and drag on the worksheet to draw the button. This will open the “Assign Macro” dialog box.
